Wheatgrass

Wheatgrass is grown from the wheat red (wheat berries), which is the whole kernel of the wheat grain.
Use the grass therapeutically, or as a supplement to your diet. Many of our digestive enzymes have been destroyed by the antigens created by pollution and cooked foods. Grass will help you to build them.
As a neutralizing agent, it corrects the acid-alkaline balance of the body.
As a general healing herb it may be applied internally or externally wherever sores or bleeding occur. Cuts, skin irritation, insect stings and burns heal quickly with application of the pulp soaked in grass juice.

Some of he qualities of wheatgrass and the juice that can be extracted from it blades include the following:

– One of the richest sources of vitamins A and C.
– Contains a full, balanced spectrum of readily-assimilated B vitamins, including laetrile (B-17), which has been credited with selectively destroying cancer cells without affecting normal cells.
– Contains a full high-quality organic calcium, phosphorous, magnesium, sodium and potassium in a balanced ratio.
– Provides organic iron to the blood to improve circulation.
– Contains 92 of the 102 trace minerals recognized as available to plants from the soil.
– Is the most available form of chlorophyll therapy.
– Assists in reducing blood pressure.
– Is very similar to the chemical molecular structure of your red blood cells, thereby enhancing the blood’s capacity to carry oxygen to every cell of your body.
– Assists in eliminating deposits from the body.
– Purifies the liver.
– Helps wounds to heal.
– Counteracts metabolic toxins in the body.
– Combats blood sugar problems.
– Has been credited with combating both loss of hair and graying.
– Aids in relieving constipation.
– Increases resistance to radiation.
– Acts as a «disinfectant» by killing bacteria in the blood, lymph, and various tissues.
– Because it incorporates all of the necessary amino acids, it is considered a complete food by many authorities.

Is recommended to drink no more than 2 ounces, twice a day, on an empty stomach, allowing 15-20 minutes to digest before consuming any other food or liquid. You may drink a small amount of water after your shot of wheatgrass.

How to grow wheatgrass:

1. Soak:

Soak the seed 8-12 hours.

2. Drain:

Verter el contenido de la jarra en un colador o un recipiente con orificios que permitan drenar el agua sobrante. Enjuagar las semillas con agua limpia y dejar que el agua drene.

Pour the contents of the soaking pitcher into the draining pitcher and rinse the seed with fresh water and allow water to drain.
3. Rinse:

Rinse twice a day, approximately 12 hours apart.

Look at the roots that are emerging from the seed.

4. Plant:

The planting usually occurs 24 to 36 hours from the initial soak day and time. Example: you start soaking seed on a monday morning; planting would likely need to occur on tuesday morning or tuesday evening.
More important than time, this is what to look for, the roots will be emerging from the seed but should not be longer than seed itself.

– Prepare your planting tray and your cover tray. Put approximately 1.5cm of soil in each tray.
– Spread the soil evenly within each tray. Compact and and mist the soil until it is moist, not muddy.
– Spread the seed onto the moist, compacted soil and spread evenly.
– Water gently so not to move the seed.
– Nest your cover tray on top of the freshly planted tray. This keeps the freshly planted seeds in the dark and under pressure which encourages even rooting and growth.

5.  Watering and Re-covering:

Water evenly until soil is moist, not muddy. At this point the root system is not ye established; therefore a heavy watering could wash soil through the holes in the tray.
This is to be performed every 12 hours until the sprouts have grown to the desired height of 3.8 cm.

6. Watering during the greening process

Now the plants will be exposed to daylight for the duration of the growing cycle. During this time the greening process will take place.

This procedure is performed approximately every 12 hours until harvest time.
Water evently until water drips or runs through the bottom of the tray.

6. Harvesting:

Harvest using scissors or a sharp knife. Cut as close to the soil mat as possible without cutting into the seeds or soil.

7. Storage:

I suggest storing the cut greens in a bag with air removed. Placing a paper towel in the bag. Place in the refrigerator.

After the first harvest, the second growth of wheatgrass is not worthless. It may be harvest and used, but the third growth is of little value.

Eat me RawI encourage you to plant your own wheatgrass! By the way, remember to put lots of love on your plants during the growing process, so your wheatgrass will grow faster, stronger and better tasting!
Have a nice day!
